Victory at US competition

We can hardly believe it: We claimed victory at the Mid-Atlantics regional final of the Harmony Sweepstakes A Cappella Festival 2008! We were awarded the first prize by the jury, as well as scooping the audience award.
We will therefore compete in San Francisco on May 3, 2008 in the final of the biggest American vocal competition, the 24th Harmony Sweepstakes A Capella Festival 2008, in front of 2000 listeners against the winners of the other seven regional finals – which means, against the best groups in the United States.
At the Mid-Atlantic regional final in Alexandria (Washington D.C.), we asserted ourselves against eight highly skilled groups from the American South-East. So we will come forward as "host" at the upcoming Mid-Atlantic regional final in Washington D.C. next year - a German group from little Hannover... ;-)
The conditions were particularly testing for us, as we had to perform with microphones this time; something we're not usually very fond of, for we never conceal our preference for the unamplified, purely acoustic performance. Thus, specifically for our competition entry, we appeared at the sold-out Birchmere venue in the days before our departure, practising with mics to improve our skills on this “discipline” of a capella performing.
And it was worth it! San Francisco, here we come!
