The senior member is the stabilising element. Whilst the others act on their youthful spirit and disregard good manners from time to time, he's the shepherding influence in the band.
 
His humour is disarming, and his sharp tongue greatly feared. A famous satirist once mused on him: "Be careful, he's a weapon!" It's not often you have the chance to meet a character as eloquent and ironic as Ansgar. He's not only delighting the audience with his subversive jokes - we split our sides laughing in the rehearsals as well.

In the middle of four crazy musicians, Ansgar sometimes has to take over the role of a fatherly warden, reminding the rest of the band of their obligations and to turn up correctly dressed to the next concert or rehearsal. And if he wouldn't do it, who would? Exactly! Good to have him.
