e-voc from 09.10.2008 - Introducing e-voc...
10-09-2008
Hello, dear friends of vocaldente,
our newsletter has changed its name and is now officially known as "e-voc". That's raising many allusions, such as "the next step in e-vo(c)lution", or - does anybody remember? - these cuddly little extraterrestrial bears from the "Star Wars"-Trilogy in 1984 named "Ewoks". Unlike these, our e-voc isn't just cuddly and little, but also delightfully informative on top of that.
Today's e-voc starts by giving a little nudge to our website: There are new pictures online of us in the new fresh line-up (check out the flashy suits with accents of white!) - and don't miss the latest videocast on our exciting short trip to Hong Kong in mid-July to find answers on questions such as: who's most adept in using chopsticks? How's the vocaldente sound amidst a tropical climate of 100°F/38°C and 80% air humidity - and how are their looks?! Check it our on YouTube and here:VIDEOCAST
We'd only just left Hong Kong, arriving back home, when our new Asian friends came up with quite a unique surprise:
They had set up a brand new page for us on the popular social network facebook! May it blossom from now on, as our page on the equivalent Myspace did - which by now has stepped over the magic mark of stunning 20,000 visitors, counting more than 1,000 friends:MYSPACE MUSIK Portal
Speaking of facebook makes us think of the face check Tobek had to go through a couple of weeks ago: On tour, we were stopped by the police and examined for drug use. The two officers, who could have easily starred in a CSI crime series, were peering sceptically at Tobek's eyes, claiming they were "far from looking normal – how long since your last drug consumption?" Tobek, never struggling for answers, replied that his wild days of youth had long gone – but the only things that eventually persuaded them to let us go were persistent denial, the waggling of gig documents in front of their faces and offering a little singing performance…
Well, after all, the only drug running through Tobek's blood circulation is an extreme overdose of M&M's and practising the new programme, both causing an explosive release of serotonin and adrenaline.

That's because we've got a heap of fresh arrangements that are both extremely exciting and delightful! And we're happy to spread this "drug" amongst you in our numerous live shows next year - as well as our addictive 2nd album, whose production will start in November, and which is due to be finished in February 2009.
However, before the recordings for our album start, we'll be setting off for a three week tour of Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea, featuring concerts and performances amongst others in "The Arts House" and the German Embassy in Singapore, the "Young-San Art Hall" in Seoul and the 2008 Taiwan International Contemporary A Cappella Festival in Taipei. At the start of November, we'll return to Europe - with a bunch of anecdotes and new songs in tow to sweeten the time to Christmas. In November and December, you can witness us performing live at big European festivals in Berlin, Munich, Vienna (Austria) and Treviso (Italy), and, within Germany, at concerts in Bersenbrück, Osterwald, Rethem, Lübeck, Dachau and - for the first time - Salzburg (Austria).LIVE |
So, in closing this first e-voc, let's get a bit philosophical: when an Ewok is born, his family's planting a new tree – when an e-voc is born, its writer clicks on "send" and wanders off to rehearsal. And when an Ewok dies, the tree will wither away. When an e-voc dies, he ends up in the mailbox's electronic trashcan - but with a little bit of luck, it'll e-voke a smile on the reader's face.
Best wishes,
vocaldente
